Application

Polystyrene is a synthetic plastic made from petroleum. It is hard and clear in its normal solid form, but it can also be puffed up into a light foam. People use it every day to make disposable cups, food trays, electronics cases, and soft packing foam. do not break down in the environment. Instead, they break up into smaller and smaller pieces. Over time, these little pieces become brittle and break down further into microplastics.
